Chris Raehl - President

Chris first played paintball with a friend's church youth group at Fox River Games in 1994. He organized several recreational events at his high school before graduating in 1996. He went to the University of Illinois for Computer Engineering, where he joined the Illini Paintball Warriors in his sophomore year, and was an alternate the first year the club started competing in local tournaments in 1997. He returned from studying abroad in Germany in 1999 and helped organize the Spring 2000 Midwest Intercollegiate Tournament.

Chris founded the National Collegiate Paintball Association in the summer of 2000, which was the basis for the current NCPA, Inc. and had the first ever College National Championships at Paintfest. He was the team captain for the Illini in the fall of 2000 where they placed 1st and 3rd at the National Championships to become college paintball's first National Champions. Chris continued his active role in the NCPA after college through the 2000-2001 season as the NCPA expanded to four conferences and held its second National Championships in April of 2001. After working to incorporate the NCPA as a tax-exempt, non-profit organization in the summer of 2001, Chris was unanimously elected as the President of the NCPA by the Board of Directors at their first meeting in September of that year.

Chris currently lives in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and works full time as a design verification engineer for SGI. Chris currently plays for Team Hazmat out of Paintball Games Inc. in Baldwin, WI and FSL Paintball Arena in Ramsey, MN, and plans to practice at least once this year.
